Rosie Shrag {2013 Senior}

Rosie is one of those people that we absolutely LOVE to photograph and simply find it difficult to stop because with her we are so inspired.  Back in September we had the privilege of photographing her for one of our stylized portrait sessions with Stylist, Kait Wright, so when her mom contacted us about senior portraits, we were thrilled!  Rosie is, of course, a natural beauty, but beyond that she has a natural comfort and ease in front of the camera as well.  She is very laid-back and free-spirited and it's fun capturing that in camera.

For Rosie's session we met at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and then headed into Downtown Ann Arbor to capture a bit with the city lights.  Early spring is such a finicky thing and although Rosie's session started out warm and sunny, once the sun went down it got chilly fast!  We thought about grabbing ice cream together, but opted for Starbucks instead.  It was a fun night all around and we hope you enjoy these few teasers of our evening together.

Anna Gerathy {2013 Senior}

Anna is a long time friend and we were so thrilled when we were given the opportunity to photograph her senior portraits!  It's always a blast when we get to work with someone who is completely comfortable with our wackiness and Kevin's fun-loving sarcasm.  Anna put up with us quite well.  :)

We were all loving the beautiful spring weather last week, and other than the crazy wind that loved tugging Anna's hair every different direction, the afternoon was perfect.  We met Anna and her mom in downtown Ann Arbor to capture these gorgeous shots in the parks around town.  Anna truly is a sweetheart and a beauty.

Sydney Klevering {2013 Senior}

Sydney's portraits were originally scheduled for late fall last year, but the weather just didn't cooperate with us so we had to reschedule for spring.  With Michigan's cold, wet, and rainy springs you never know what you're going to get, but we were we blessed with an amazing afternoon last week!  The sun was out, the warm breeze was blowing, the cloud formations were intriguing, and Sydney was GORGEOUS!  I really don't think this girl could ever take a bad picture!

Enjoy Sydney's teasers from our evening together, and be sure to let her know how beautiful she looked!

Jorden & Julia Gemuend {Married!}

Jorden and Julia were two of the most sincere and sweet people we have had the opportunity to work with.  From the very first accidental meeting in the checkout line at Meijer (lol), to the consultations and phone conversations, to the actual wedding day - both Julia and Jorden were beyond incredible and a true joy!

Jorden and Julia contacted us shortly after our 2013 Wedding Giveaway started, but since their wedding day was quickly approaching, they didn't want to wait for the contest to end before they chose a photographer.  We were so excited when they booked with us and even more excited and impressed when the second place winners of our Wedding Giveaway actually donated their entire winnings to them.  This gift allowed them to upgrade their Wedding Collection at absolutely no charge!  Phil and Frances not only blessed Jorden and Julia, but they also blessed and impressed us with their incredible generosity.  What an amazing gift of friendship and love.

By the time the wedding day rolled around, we knew that working with Julia and Jorden was going to be wonderful!  What we didn't know was how wonderful it was going to be to work with all of Jorden and Julia's extended family and bridal party!  What a great, loving and genuine group of people.  Even we felt like close friends of the families by the end of the evening.

Julia and Jorden's wedding day was perfect, with all sorts of perfect details.  Enjoy these teasers of their day and be sure to let the newlyweds know what you think!

Julia and her girls got ready at Jorden's dad's house and it was one of the most gorgeous "getting ready" locations we've been to.  Deb and Jim Gemuend's decorating and the murals on their walls (and ceilings) truly created a warm, romantic atmosphere for the entire morning.  If Julia ever wanted to have a fairy tale wedding, she was certainly off to the right start!
Julia was supported by and surrounded with such a powerful group of ladies!  They were her teammates, her cheerleaders, her prayer warriors, her family and her dear friends.
Julia's Vera Wang wedding dress was perfect for accentuating and highlighting her beauty that day.  She truly did glow and was radiant all day long.
Jorden and his guys were so much fun!  We had a blast posing and preparing for battle with them for their portraits.  Although we've had swords used as symbolism in weddings we've photographed before, this was the first battle ax, long bow, staff and hammer we've seen make an appearance.The whole wedding day was bathed in prayer and we loved that both the groom and groomsmen, and bride and bridesmaids, took the time before the ceremony to lift the day, Julia and Jorden, and their marriage commitment up to God.
Julia and Jorden's ceremony was held at Jorden's family church, Solid Rock Bible Church in Plymouth, and Rick Keith, of New Life Church in Ann Arbor, officiated the wedding.
The reception was held at one of our favorite barn venues in Ann Arbor - Cobblestone Farm.  The farm is such a beautiful canvas that allows each wedding held there to really shine and reflect the personalities of the couple getting married that day.  We loved working with Jorden and Julia, and the bridal party, to capture portraits around the beautiful historic buildings on the grounds there.

Congratulations again, Jorden and Julia, and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day!
